Easy Hairstyles- Half Crown Braid

Easy Hairstyles- Half Crown Braid

My favorite Hairstyle ever! hehe .... Well for one its so frigging easy and doesn't take forever to do plus it looks hella good lol
I mean look at Selena Gomez here. Doesn't she look so cute?  Shes's rocking the dutch braid combined with the half up crown braid.

How to do it:
Brush all the knots out of your hair first. Now to make any braided hairstyle last long enough I always recommend prepping your hair before you start styling the hair. If your hair gets frizzy fast then try a using the GLASS 01 Smoothing Anti Frizz Serum by Redken 5th Ave. Next apply the Tousle Whip 04 soft texturizing hair cream wax to give the braid a better hold so it lasts all thought out the day/night.

Begin by sectioning the hair into 3 parts from the top. Around your crown section give it a little tease to give the hairstyle some volume. Next you will begin creating a dutch braid from the top or you can create a french braid if you want the same effect like the Selena Gomez pic above.

When you reach closer to your ears continue braiding your hair down like a normal braid all the way to the end. Repeat on the other side.

Nest all you have to do is bring both braids to the back arranging them to lay flat against the head and pin it with bobby pins. Don't forget to lock it with a high quality hairspray. My favorite is the Wax blast 10 high impact finishing spray wax.

Here's a pictorial:

Now if you dont care for the dutch braid hair look then try a normal braid starting from right above your ears. Try to start braiding it a little above the ears so this way the braid shows up nicely near the face frame.

Also if you dont like teasing your hair then just simply part your ahir down the center and start the regular braid right from the crown area. Leave a little hair near the face frame. This gives a more romantic effortless soft look.

For a more formal look I like curling the hair more properly for that defined curl look so its not so messy and bohemian like. This hairstyle is perfect for any occasion like Prom, Sweet sixteens, Bridal showers, Bridesmaids, Birthdays, Flower girl, etc.

Here's how it looks like on different hair colors and such:

This hairstyle also looks great with straight hair. Don't forget to pull on the braid slowly to give a more fuller look to the braids. People will think you have spent hours doing your hair where you probably spent only 10-15 minutes.
