I Love Tarte Cosmetics. Those that knows me too well knows how much I adore this brand and specially their lip products, and then I became seriously attached to their 12-hour Amazonian Clay blushes.

Ever since I've been using this airbrush powder foundation I have not touched my liquid foundations at all. All I need is my concealer and the Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation and boom my skin is flawless. I do have some minor acne scars and some redness around my cheeks but I really dont care for heavy coverage products. Although this foundation can easily be full coverage without feeling heavy and omg I LOVE IT. This is Tarte’s first ever full coverage powder foundation enriched with Amazonian clay.

This Foundation comes in a jar that has a very interesting fabric mesh sifter. It almost feels like a pantyhose lol The lid of this jar has a round stopper shaped to fit the size of that sifter so it stays nice and tight and wont budge when travelling specially. (I really like that).

However that leaves us with no room to buff out the product when you pick it up with your brush. Because normally when we use any powder foundation we usually pick up the powder with our brush and then swirl it around the cap of the jar to buff it out properly so it doesn't get messy when you apply it directly to your face right!?

But because of the sifter stopper that's built in the cap of this packaging it doesnt give us the room do do so! HOWEVER- hmm haha... I find that because of the fabric mesh sifter thingy theres no way in hell you will pick up a crap load of the product. Every time I use this foundation I never ever picked up so much powder that it went everywhere when I tried applying it. It was always just the right amount of what I needed just on the tips of my round top kabuki brush.

Now you must be wondering why I didnt mention the special bamboo brush that comes with the foundation! Well thats because I dont own one lol. And since I dont have it I use my regular round top kabuki brush to pick up the product and it fits just right where the mesh sifter is. So I would say any standard round kabuki brush will fit in there and get the job done.

The powder has a silky yet semi-matte texture which means it can cake up if you are very heavy handed. However it's very lightweight and breathable once you work it into the skin. This powder is very interesting and difficult to explain because it has a rather cool, refreshing feel yet its not liquid! Also the color doesn't change once you apply it. In other words it doesn't oxidize which is another big plus.

But do keep it in mind that it a powder foundation after all, so never skip on your 'skin prep regimen'. Moisturize your skin very well beforehand and also lightly scrubbing as usual to avoid having dry flaky or patches on the skin. (You should do this before applying any makeup anyways).

Now for those with combination/oily skin- make sure your not applying too much of this product as I found that it tends on give me that weird gathered up product line near my nose crease on both sides if I apply it too much by accident! Which is why now I make sure to only apply just a tiny bit using a 'Fluffy eyeshadow blending brush" just to cover the redness around the nose area. The extra fluffy brush helps not applying too much foundation and it no longer gives me that nose crease line anymore.

This foundation is very long lasting. If you want even more lasting power then add a good face primer to give a bit more boost to your foundation regime, But honestly I dont wear any primer at all with this foundation and it usually lasts me the whole day. (I'm talking about a good 10 hours or so). I do have combination skin so I do touch up with a pressed powder (Maybelline dream matte powder) to avoid the shiny T-zone. But I dont do anything to the rest of my skin and I really look flawless every time.

It comes in 11 shades and heres Tartes product description:

For goofproof, mess-free applications, gently push tarte’s airbuki bamboo powder foundation brush (found here) into the foundation’s custom mesh sifter – no shaking necessary! Tap away the excess and then buff the moisture-rich powder onto skin in light, circular motions. Start at the center of the face and work outward until your desired level of coverage is achieved.
